Crawley Blinds and Awnings Aluminium Rollform Rollershutters come in many different styles to suit all applications. We have our standard Rollershutters, Cyclone Rated Rollershutters, Extruded Rollershutters and Rollershutters with a larger curtain profile for longer spans. Raise or lower them for sun and weather control.

All of these are available with either manual, spring, Battery Motorised with or without Solar Charging and 240 Volt motorised operation just depending on the size and the weight of the required Rollershutters.

DARK OR LIGHT COLOUR CHOICES FOR METAL AWNINGS CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE

DARK OR LIGHT COLOURS

Contrary to the rumour mill no metal is hotter or cooler than the other, this has been professionally tested and proven. All metal awnings will give the same amount of protection against the hot summer sun. But Crawley Blinds Original TROPICOOL Colorbond Awnings have been tested in a laboratory, and proved to be the strongest of all the metal awnings on the market.

The choice of colour on the other hand can make a difference to heat distribution. Choose a light colour as the main colour of a metal awning this will always deflect heat away from the awning. If you choose a dark colour as the main colour of a metal awning this will draw the heat. This theory can be tested on a hot summers day by walking on the black section of a road which will burn your feet. Then walk on the white lines on the road and you can stand comfortably in one place. Our TROPICOOL Colorbond Awnings are manufactured with a white colour underneath the awning to promote coolness.

INSIDE BLINDS, WHAT STYLE BEST SUITS YOUR SITUATION

Are you looking for Inside Blinds for your home or premises but are just not sure what style would be best for your area. Here is a run down on some of the most popular styles of Internal Blinds to help you make your decision.

PLANTATION SHUTTERS

This style of Inside Blinds are available in Composite and Timber. Shutters are a versatile blind which can be used almost everywhere from holes in walls to windows and doors etc. They can be installed as Fixed In Place panels, Hinged Panels, Bifolding Panels and Sliding Panels to suit most areas. The blades can be opened and closed for privacy, light and sun control. The panels however will not flap and blow around in the breeze.

VENETIAN BLINDS

This style of inside Blind is available in Aluminium, and Composite. Venetians have the versatility of being able to open and close the blades to allow privacy, light and sun control. Venetians are held down at the bottom with hold downs to minimise movement with the breeze. Available in 25mm, 50mm and 63mm wide blades there is a size to suit all areas. These can be successfully used on windows. they can also be used over doors but are not a practical option.

VERTICAL DRAPES

This style of Inside Blind is available in a large range of fabrics from plain colours to textures and prints. Blockouts, translucents and sheers. With versatile blades that will rotate the b 180 degrees to allow for privacy, light and sun control. They can successfully be installed to both windows and doors.

FABRIC SECTIONAL (PANEL) GLIDES

This style of Inside Blind is available in a large range of fabrics from plain colours to textures and prints. Blockouts, translucents and sheers. They can be used on windows, doors and can even be used as room dividers. The width of the panels are determined by width of the opening, and how many panels are used to create the blind. Draw them across the opening for privacy, sun and light control. Or draw them back to the side of the opening when they are not required.

ROLLERBLINDS

This style of Inside blind can be used on windows and doors but we do not recommend them over doors as they are not a practical option. They are available in a large range of fabrics from plain colours to textures and prints, blockouts, translucents and sheers, and are operated by side chains, springs or motorised. They can be rolled down when privacy, light and sun control is required, and can be rolled up when they are not required. If you require a total blockout we have the Rollerblinds with side channels to accomplish this, the channels also stop the blinds from moving about in the breeze.

ROMAN BLINDS.

This style of Inside Blind can be used on windows and doors but we do not recommend them over doors as they are not a practical option. Available in a large range of fabrics from plain colours, textures and prints, blockouts, translucents, and sheers. Manufactured to fold up and down, when fully raised they will hang down around 350mm-400mm from the top of the blind creating the illusion of a valance. Operated with either cord or side chain operation.

Inside Blinds are much more than just a blind and the choice you make can add to or detract from the overall look of your home, but you also have to be practical with your choice of Inside Blinds. Looks aren’t everything the Inside Blinds you choose have to be the right solution for your problem to do the job properly.

OUTSIDE ALUMINIUM PLANTATION SHUTTERS

Crawley Blinds and Awnings EXTERNAL PLANTATION SHUTTERS are built strong with heavy duty hinges and accessories as well as high quality tracking systems.

Ideal for Patio’s, Verandah’s etc. They are available in our standard systems or you can upgrade to our Cyclone Rated system for extra strength. Installation options range from Fixed In Place on all 4 sides or just at the top and bottom, Bifolding and Sliding. Flyscreens can also be installed onto the Shutters to help keep those pesky bugs out. Flyscreens are great on Fixed In Placed Shutters but if installed onto Bifolding and Sliding Shutters there are still gaps around the perimeter of the Shutters that will still allow some bugs in.

INTERNAL BLIND FABRIC CHOICES

The choice of fabrics available for internal blinds these days is mind blowing. Gone are the days of choosing from 5 fabrics and 10 colours. When buying Internal Blinds give consideration to where they are being installed and what purpose you want them to serve.

The different varieties of fabric choices for internal blinds range from:

Blockout – These blind fabrics will blockout all of the sun and the light from entering through the fabric itself, great for bedrooms, media rooms etc.

Translucent – These blind fabrics will allow light to filter through the fabric into the room while still maintaining your privacy.

Sheer – These blind fabrics will allow light, and vision through the fabric, great for areas with a view, but remember when you can see out this then reverses at night or whenever the light is brightest inside the house allowing people to see in, so there is no privacy factor with these fabrics.
